All About Me
Hello everyone! My name is Chang Cui, you can call me Ravenna. I am now an M.Ed. student in the Curriculum & Pedagogy Program in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the University of Toronto.
I have a few months of experience in teaching Chinese history and English as a second language in a Chinese middle school.
From my personal experience as a student and history teacher, I noticed that many students take history as a boring and tedious subject and have a lot of trouble in learning it. As a huge history fan, I realize that most amazing and attractive parts of history are beyond our textbooks since the purpose of textbooks is to summarize historical facts to a high degree, and that's why students think they are tedious.
This website is where I collect the fun facts and stories behind our history textbooks and share with the history educators who need them to make their teaching more lively and attractive. Students are also welcome to explore the fun side of history!
